New stent offers hope for patients too sick for standard neck artery surgery

NCT ID NCT07370246

Summary

This study is testing a new carotid artery stent system for people with a narrowed neck artery who are considered too high-risk for the standard surgical procedure. It will enroll about 212 patients across China to see if the stent is safe and effective at preventing strokes and death over a one-year period. The main goal is to measure how many patients have a stroke or die within 30 days of the procedure, or have a stroke related to the treated artery later on.
