Can a skin scan reveal your immune age?

NCT ID NCT07221643

Summary

This Stanford study is exploring whether the levels of carotenoids (natural pigments from fruits and vegetables) in a person's skin are connected to signs of aging and immune system health. Researchers will measure skin carotenoids in healthy young adults (18-30) and older adults (65+) and see how they relate to skin appearance, certain blood markers, and self-reported health. This is an observational study, meaning it aims to gather information and find connections, not to test a treatment.
