Can skin carotenoids predict how fast you age?

NCT ID NCT07221643

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looks at whether the amount of carotenoids (natural pigments from fruits and vegetables) in your skin is linked to signs of aging like wrinkles and immune health. Researchers at Stanford will measure skin carotenoid levels and compare them with aging biomarkers in 40 healthy adults, split into younger (18-30) and older (65+) groups. The goal is to better understand the connection between diet, skin health, and immune aging.
