First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at whether the amount of carotenoids (natural pigments) in your skin is linked to how your immune system ages. Researchers at Stanford will measure skin carotenoid levels and compare them to signs of skin aging and blood markers of aging in 40 healthy adults. Participants must be either 18-30 or 65 and older. The goal is to better understand the connection between diet, skin health, and immune function.
