Summary
This study tested whether taking carnosine, a natural supplement found in muscle and brain, can protect people from the harmful effects of air pollution. Researchers measured markers of oxidative stress and heart function in 299 adults living in the Louisville area. The goal was to see if carnosine could prevent pollution-related damage to blood vessels and the heart.
