Could a simple supplement help a failing heart?

NCT ID NCT04908397

Summary

This small, early-stage study explored whether a nutritional supplement called carnitine could help the heart in people with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a serious lung condition. Researchers first checked how much carnitine people with PAH get from their diet, then gave a small group of 10 participants the supplement to see if it raised their blood levels and had any effect on heart function or walking ability. The main goal was to gather basic information to plan future, larger studies.
