Parenting skills may boost chemo adherence in young leukemia patients

Summary

This study tests a program called CareMeds that teaches parents behavioral skills to help their young children (ages 3-9) with acute lymphoblastic leukemia take oral chemotherapy at home. Researchers will enroll 100 families in Buffalo, NY, and Atlanta, GA to see if the program is acceptable and feasible. The goal is to improve medication adherence and parenting skills.
