First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a fast, bedside test (SPOTFIRE) can help doctors better treat children with respiratory infections in the emergency department. About 720 children aged 2 months to 18 years will be randomly assigned to either get the rapid test or standard care. The goal is to see if the test leads to better recovery, fewer antibiotics, and higher parent satisfaction.
