Exercise and breathing training may ease pulmonary hypertension symptoms

NCT ID NCT07648524

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a 12-week program of moderate aerobic exercise and inspiratory muscle training can improve breathing, exercise capacity, and quality of life in people with pulmonary hypertension caused by lung disease. Participants will walk on a treadmill and use a breathing trainer three times a week. The goal is to see if this rehabilitation approach can help manage the condition.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

cardiopulmonary rehabilitation (aerobic training and inspiratory muscle training)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward a non-drug therapy to improve daily function and quality of life for people with pulmonary hypertension.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 42 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The benefits of exercise may be limited in severe disease.
