Scientists hunt genetic clues to why some survive heart shock
NCT ID NCT05728359
Summary
This study aims to understand why some patients survive cardiogenic shock while others don't, by examining their genetic and immune system responses. Researchers will collect blood samples from 300 patients experiencing this life-threatening heart condition across European hospitals. The goal is to identify biological patterns that predict outcomes and might reveal future treatment targets, but this is purely an observational study that doesn't test new treatments.
