Doctors film real cardiac arrests to see if better teamwork saves lives

NCT ID NCT03017144

Summary

This study aimed to understand how a resuscitation team's communication and teamwork (non-technical skills) relate to their medical performance (technical skills) during real cardiac arrests. Researchers video-recorded 20 real-life emergencies in a Finnish hospital to analyze team performance. The goal was to identify weaknesses that could be improved with specific training, like a 'pit crew' model where everyone has a pre-assigned role.
