Could slower warming save more lives after cardiac arrest?

NCT ID NCT02555254

Summary

This study tested whether warming patients more slowly after therapeutic cooling improves recovery from cardiac arrest. Researchers compared two warming speeds in 58 patients who survived a shockable cardiac arrest and were in a coma. They measured levels of an inflammation marker (IL-6) to see if slower warming reduced harmful inflammation linked to brain injury.
