Simple blood test could help predict cardiac arrest survival

NCT ID NCT03325452

Summary

This study aimed to see if measuring a substance called lactate in the blood, right when paramedics arrive, could help predict whether a person's heart will restart after an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. It involved 77 adults who suffered a cardiac arrest. The goal was to gather knowledge to potentially help guide future emergency care decisions, not to test a new treatment.
