Doctors measure the carbon footprint of your stomach exam

NCT ID NCT07261228

Summary

This study aims to measure and compare the environmental impact, or carbon footprint, of two common stomach procedures. Researchers will observe 75 patients already scheduled for either a diagnostic scope for indigestion or a therapeutic scope to stop stomach bleeding. They will calculate the greenhouse gas emissions produced during each procedure to see which type has a larger environmental impact.
