High-Tech braces aim to stop arthritis before it starts

NCT ID NCT05209347

Summary

This study aimed to see if custom-made carbon fiber braces could reduce stress on the ankle joint after a serious fracture. The goal was to prevent or delay the development of painful arthritis, a common long-term problem after such injuries. Researchers planned to test two different brace designs on adults with healed fractures, measuring joint stress, walking ability, and pain. The study was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
