Heart safety showdown: which Post-Birth bleeding drug is safer?

NCT ID NCT03899961

Summary

This study compared two drugs (oxytocin and carbetocin) used to prevent excessive bleeding after C-section deliveries. Researchers wanted to see if one drug is safer for the heart than the other. They measured heart-related blood markers in 240 healthy pregnant women after giving them one of the two drugs. The goal was to provide better information for doctors choosing medications, especially for women with existing heart conditions.
