New CAR-T therapy trial targets Tough-to-Treat HIV-Related cancers

NCT ID NCT05077527

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a personalized immune therapy called axicabtagene ciloleucel (a type of CAR-T) for people with HIV who have an aggressive form of B-cell lymphoma that has returned or not responded to prior treatments. The main goals are to check if the treatment is safe and feasible for this group, and to see if it helps control the cancer. The therapy involves collecting a patient's own immune cells, modifying them in a lab to better target cancer, and then infusing them back.
