New combo aims to shield brain from powerful cancer Treatment's harsh side effects

NCT ID NCT04514029

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether giving two existing drugs—dexamethasone (into the spine) and simvastatin (a pill)—can safely prevent or reduce serious brain-related side effects in adults with lymphoma receiving a powerful treatment called CAR-T cell therapy. The main goal is to see if it's practical for patients to complete this added treatment plan. Researchers will also check if it lowers the rate of these neurological complications.
