CAR T-Cells take aim at devastating scleroderma lung scarring in major trial

Summary
This study is testing whether a new type of cell therapy, called CAR T-cells, is better and safer than current standard treatments for people with active systemic sclerosis (scleroderma) that affects the lungs. It will involve about 92 adults whose disease has not responded well to at least one prior medication. The main goal is to see if the therapy can better preserve lung function and improve skin and other symptoms.
