Reprogrammed immune cells target Tough-to-Treat lymphoma in groundbreaking trial
NCT ID NCT01840566
Summary
This early-stage trial is testing the safety of a two-part treatment for aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma that has returned or not responded to other therapies. First, patients receive high-dose chemotherapy and a transplant of their own blood stem cells. Then, they receive an infusion of their own immune cells (T-cells) that have been specially modified in a lab to find and attack their cancer cells. The main goal is to find the safest dose of these modified cells and understand their side effects.
