Scientists test re-engineered immune cells to fight severe lupus

NCT ID NCT06150651

Summary

This early-stage study tested the safety of a new cell therapy for adults with severe, hard-to-treat lupus. Doctors collected patients' own immune cells, genetically modified them to target lupus-causing B cells, and then infused them back. The main goal was to see if this experimental treatment was safe and to check for any early signs it might help control the disease.
