New 'Living Drug' trial seeks to fight childhood cancer

NCT ID NCT03294954

Summary

This study is testing a new cell therapy for children with neuroblastoma that has come back or hasn't responded to other treatments. Doctors take a patient's own immune cells, modify them in a lab to better find and attack cancer cells, and then infuse them back into the patient along with a drug called Etanercept. The main goal of this early-phase trial is to find a safe and effective dose and see how well the treatment works against the tumor.
