Engineered immune cells take on tough blood cancers in early trial

Summary
This early-phase trial tests a new treatment using specially engineered natural killer (NK) cells from donated cord blood. The cells are modified to better recognize and attack cancer cells, and to resist signals that would normally stop them. The study includes up to 60 adults with certain types of lymphoma or leukemia that have not responded to standard therapies. The main goal is to check safety and side effects.
