Swallowable camera tested as safer, cleaner alternative to scopes

NCT ID NCT06017102

Summary

This study compared two methods for checking for swollen veins (varices) in the esophagus and stomach of patients with biliary atresia. Researchers tested a new swallowable camera capsule against the traditional flexible tube scope to see which was more comfortable and produced fewer airborne particles. The goal was to find a safer and more accurate diagnostic tool for these patients.
