Could a swallowable camera replace scopes for fragile patients after stomach surgery?

NCT ID NCT06029608

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a magnetically-controlled capsule (a tiny camera you swallow) can safely and effectively check the stomach after surgery in elderly patients or those with other health problems. About 120 people who have had stomach cancer surgery will either get the capsule or a traditional endoscopy. The goal is to see if the capsule can find complications and is more comfortable for these vulnerable patients.
