First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether a natural supplement called capsinoid, found in sweet peppers and chilies, can activate brown fat in obese adolescents. Brown fat helps burn calories to produce heat, which may aid weight control. Researchers will measure temperature and blood flow in the neck area after a cold test, along with resting metabolism. The study involves 38 teens aged 11-18 who will take the supplement alongside dietary guidance.
