First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study aims to see if a simple finger-prick (capillary) blood test can accurately measure carbon monoxide levels compared to standard blood draws from a vein or artery. Researchers will enroll 120 adults in emergency rooms who show symptoms like headache or nausea and have a possible exposure to carbon monoxide. Participation involves only the finger-prick sample, taking about 5-15 minutes.
