Cannabis trial offers hope for calming dementia distress

NCT ID NCT05644262

Summary

This study is testing whether a liquid medicine containing THC and CBD (compounds from cannabis) can reduce agitation and distress in people with advanced dementia who are eligible for hospice care. About 120 participants will take either the active medicine or a placebo for 12 weeks, and researchers will measure changes in agitation. The goal is to see if this treatment can improve comfort and quality of life for patients and their caregivers.
