Scientists test cannabis as weapon against deadly brain tumor

NCT ID NCT03529448

Summary

This study tested whether adding two cannabis compounds (THC and CBD) to the standard treatment for glioblastoma, a very aggressive brain cancer, is safe and might help control the disease. Researchers worked with 33 adults newly diagnosed with this cancer to find the highest safe dose of the cannabis combination. The goal was to see if this new approach could improve outcomes for a disease where survival rates have not improved much in the last decade.
