Scientists pay people with HIV to stop using cannabis for 28 days

NCT ID NCT04866004

Summary

This study tested whether taking a 28-day break from cannabis affects mood, pain, sleep, inflammation, and HIV levels in people living with HIV who use cannabis regularly. Researchers paid 25 participants money as an incentive to stop using cannabis for one month and tracked their health. The goal was to see if this short break was possible and what changes it might cause, not to provide a treatment.
