Summary

This study tested whether smelling cang-ai volatile oil (CAVO) can ease depression symptoms. Sixty people with depression were split into two groups: one sniffed CAVO, the other sniffed bergamot essential oil, for one hour daily. After a month, researchers used brain scans and depression questionnaires to see if CAVO changed brain activity or mood.
