Summary
This study aims to understand why Candida fungal infections are hard to treat in very sick patients. Researchers will collect samples from 300 patients in a specialized intensive care unit to compare different types of Candida. They will look for how the fungus builds protective layers called biofilms and which genes are involved, hoping to explain why some infections resist antifungal drugs.
