Do cancer trials take an emotional toll? study compares patient well-being

NCT ID NCT01606033

Summary

This study aimed to understand how participating in a cancer clinical trial affects a patient's emotional well-being and quality of life. Researchers compared 125 patients with advanced or recurrent cancer who were either in a trial or receiving standard treatment. They measured levels of anxiety, depression, and overall life quality to see if the trial experience itself had a psychological impact.
