Doctors investigate if cancer surgery is safe for High-Risk liver patients

NCT ID NCT07368309

Summary

This study looked back at medical records to understand how safe a common cancer removal procedure is for patients who have both early-stage stomach/esophageal cancer and advanced liver disease with swollen veins. Researchers compared 206 patients across 7 hospitals—some with liver cirrhosis and some without—to see if the procedure caused more complications in the high-risk group. The goal was to gather evidence to help doctors make better treatment decisions for these complex patients.
