Survey reveals how honesty about drug unknowns changes patient choices

NCT ID NCT07110597

Summary

This study was a large national survey to see how telling people about the unknowns and uncertainties of a new cancer drug affects their decisions. Over 3,000 US adults were asked if they would take a hypothetical new lung cancer drug, then some were given extra statements about what is still uncertain about the drug's evidence. The researchers measured if this changed how likely people were to take the drug, their understanding, and their trust in the information.
