Scientists search for genetic clues to improve cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT01827956

Summary

This study aimed to understand if a person's genetics can predict how well the drug cetuximab works for treating advanced head and neck cancers. Researchers collected blood samples from 121 patients with recurrent or metastatic cancer to analyze specific genes. The goal was to find a genetic marker that could help doctors know in advance which patients are most likely to benefit from this treatment.
