New app aims to help cancer patients have tough family talks about future care

NCT ID NCT04515810

Summary

This study is testing a new mobile app called PACT that helps people with advanced cancer talk with their loved ones and doctors about the type of medical care they would want if they became too sick to speak for themselves. The trial will enroll 400 patients and their support persons to see if using the app makes these important conversations easier and more likely to happen. Researchers will compare the app to standard care to see if it helps patients better document their wishes and feel more supported.
