Simple survey aims to help cancer patients talk to doctors about their wishes

NCT ID NCT06955468

Summary

This study tested a new way to help hospitalized patients with advanced lung or stomach cancers talk with their cancer doctors about their care goals and preferences after leaving the hospital. Researchers enrolled 40 participants and randomly assigned half to use a short survey about their goals; the results were sent to their doctors as a reminder to discuss them. The main goal was to see if this approach was practical and led to more documented conversations about patient wishes within a month after hospital discharge.
