Science tests if white noise can drown out plane sounds for better sleep

NCT ID NCT05774977

Summary

This study tested whether adding constant background noise (like a white noise machine) or wearing earplugs could help people sleep better when exposed to recorded aircraft sounds. Researchers monitored the sleep of 27 healthy adults in a sound-controlled lab over several nights. They measured sleep quality and next-day thinking skills to see if these simple methods could reduce the sleep disruption caused by noise.
