Brain ultrasound may forecast fog after heart bypass

NCT ID NCT07000461

First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a simple ultrasound of the brain (transcranial Doppler) can predict confusion or memory issues after heart bypass surgery. About 106 adults having planned bypass will have their brain blood flow measured during surgery. Researchers will then check for cognitive problems and delirium in the days after surgery to see if blood flow changes are linked.
