Summary
This study is testing whether women with a specific, very low-risk type of early breast cancer (DCIS) can safely skip whole-breast radiation after breast-conserving surgery. It aims to identify patients who are unlikely to have the cancer return, allowing them to avoid the side effects and burden of radiation treatment. The trial is observing 295 women aged 50+ who meet strict criteria for low-risk tumors to see if their outcomes remain good without radiation.
