Pre-Surgery pain pill could cut strong opioid doses
NCT ID NCT06015711
Summary
This study is testing if giving a combination painkiller (Maxigesic) before surgery can reduce the amount of a strong opioid (remifentanil) needed during the operation. Researchers will enroll 96 adults having surgery and use a special monitor to guide precise opioid dosing. The goal is to manage pain effectively while minimizing opioid use and its potential side effects.
