Eye muscle thickness may warn of surgery risk
NCT ID NCT07517094
First seen Apr 16, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at 30 men who take alpha-blocker medication for urinary symptoms and were having cataract surgery. Researchers used a special camera to measure the thickness of iris muscles before surgery. The goal was to see if these measurements could predict a complication called floppy iris syndrome, which can make surgery harder. The study aimed to improve safety by identifying at-risk patients ahead of time.
