Fixing up neighborhoods to fight cancer

NCT ID NCT06864260

Summary

This study is testing whether improving neighborhood conditions—like adding sidewalks, parks, lighting, and community events—can help reduce cancer risk in high-poverty areas. Researchers are working with 300 Black residents from specific low-income neighborhoods to see if these changes lead to less stress, more physical activity, better access to healthy food and cancer screening, and stronger community connections. The goal is to learn if making neighborhoods healthier places to live can be a form of cancer prevention.
