Can your daily walk stave off Parkinson's? UK trial aims to find out
NCT ID NCT06600438
Summary
This study is testing if a long-term, home-based walking program can help prevent or delay Parkinson's disease in people at higher risk. It will recruit 110 adults over 40 who have a reduced sense of smell—an early warning sign—and are not very active. Participants will use a fitness tracker and app for 18 months to see if increasing their daily steps affects their health and potential Parkinson's risk markers.
