Can Pre-Workout save your muscles from bed rest?

NCT ID NCT06205784

Summary

This study tested whether doing strength training before having a leg immobilized could protect against muscle loss. Researchers worked with 64 healthy younger and older adults. Half did 4 weeks of heavy leg exercises before having one knee immobilized for 7-10 days, while the other half only exercised after immobilization, to compare the effects.
