Sniffer dogs put to the test for bladder cancer detection

NCT ID NCT07334314

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study aims to see how well specially trained dogs can detect bladder cancer just by smelling urine samples. About 340 adults scheduled for bladder surgery will provide urine samples for the dogs to sniff. The goal is to measure the dogs' accuracy, which could lead to a new, non-invasive way to screen for this cancer.
