Fight the food industry to fight fat? new study tests unusual diet strategy
NCT ID NCT07226336
Summary
This study is testing two different 2-month programs to help 60 adults with overweight or obesity reduce their intake of ultra-processed 'junk' foods. One program uses standard diet change tips, while the other tries a new approach: teaching people about the harms of the food industry and getting them involved in activism against it. The goal is to see if feeling conflicted about supporting that industry helps people make better food choices and lose weight.
