Skin biopsy may spot Parkinson's risk in tremor patients

NCT ID NCT07428447

First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a simple skin biopsy can identify people with essential tremor who are at risk of developing Parkinson's disease. Essential tremor affects millions, and some patients later develop Parkinson's. Researchers will follow 300 participants for two years to see if a protein found in skin samples can predict this change.
