Could a simple oil swap stop diabetes before it starts?

NCT ID NCT07289880

Summary

This study is testing if using a specific type of cooking oil, called diacylglycerol (DAG) oil, for four weeks can help control blood sugar and improve health in middle-aged and older adults with prediabetes. Participants will replace their usual cooking oil with either DAG oil or a regular colza oil while keeping their other habits the same. Researchers will measure changes in blood sugar, cholesterol, weight, and gut bacteria to see if the DAG oil makes a difference.
